This year’s Grapple at the Garden wrestling showcase boasts a jam-packed lineup of great events that are sure to keep spectators entertained from beginning to end. The December 1 festivities will include a head-to-head matchup between former NCAA greats Kyle Dake and Bubba Jenkins and dual meet action involving some of the country’s top-ranked college teams. Also adding to the day’s excitement will be the finals of the Beat the Streets PSAL Thanksgiving Dual Meet Invitational.

Teams from 16 New York-area high schools are scheduled to participate in the BTS PSAL Thanksgiving Dual Meet Invitational. They are:

  • Horace Mann
  • Monsignor Farrell
  • Brooklyn Tech
  • Poly Prep
  • Benjamin Cardoza
  • Martin Luther King
  • Eagle Academy
  • Fordham Prep
  • James Madison
  • New Utrecht
  • Petrides
  • Mt. St. Michael
  • Wingate
  • Curtis
  • Grand Street
  • Martin Luther

Winning the dual meet will earn all the usual citywide bragging rights that go along with a championship of this caliber, so you can bet these athletes will be intent on doing more than just swapping trading pins with other teams and soaking up the MSG atmosphere. And if that’s not motivation enough, an excellent performance at this high-profile event could catch the attention of some of the coaches or scouts on hand and perhaps open the door to a college wrestling scholarship.

Either way, fans will be treated to some fierce battles when these student-athletes don wrestling gear in their respective team colors and fight it out in the PSAL finals. So if you’re going to be in New York City on December 1, why not buy a ticket to Grapple at the Garden presented by and catch all the action in person.
